Guest Author

Garry G. Gilfoy - Author

Picture
Gary Gilfoy was raised in Nova Scotia, Canada and currently lives in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia. His first book, The Big Picture, is a tour de force that illuminates the nature of transformative spiritual experiences. Interwoven with the stories of seven modern people, the author pulls together many diverse strands of spirituality, setting our current lives and our future possibilities into a context that convincingly portrays the nature of human existence and the course of our evolution.

The child of a clairvoyant, Garry’s spiritual search began early in life with a drive to understand his mother’s spiritual sight. The work of Edgar Cayce, The Egyptian Book of the Dead, The Gnostic Gospels, New Age writers and spiritual movements, all added to the development of the author’s broad and inclusive cosmology. By his twenties he’d had profound spiritual experiences of his own, and garnered a rich understanding of the unseen world.

The author’s formal education includes Honours work in Theology, a Post-Graduate degree in Education, as well as a Master of Social Science (Counselling), where his research work probed the nature of spiritual emergence. Garry maintains a fulltime role training therapists as well as frequent public speaking engagements, conducting group work in spiritual psychology and hosting men’s retreats. He has published numerous articles and is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post. Through his work Garry has influenced thousands with his breadth of ideas and their practical application.

Garry maintains strong personal and professional links across the globe. In addition to his native Canada, he has lived and worked for extended periods in New York, Australia and New Zealand, and taught for many years in Singapore. Garry retains a commitment to the global work of Anthroposophy, which brings the work of Dr. Rudolf Steiner into practice, as well as the leading-edge fostering of leadership promoted by Shambhala through their program, Authentic Leadership in Action (ALIA).

A gifted scholar and lifelong quester, Garry Gilfoy adds depth and perspective to the understanding of the mystical encounter and its impact on psychology. He blends contemporary approaches from leading authors like Ken Wilber and Rudolf Steiner with his own real life journey, and introduces us to others with remarkable insights from the world of spirit.

Garry lives with his long-term partner and their three children.

The Big Picture: Insights from the Spiritual World

"Built around the extraordinary stories of seven people who have been unwitting visitors to the spiritual world, The BIG Picture examines the themes of reincarnation, the relationship between karma and destiny, the divide between religion and spirituality, humanity's task in creation, and the emergence of a new Western spirituality to lead us into the next stage of the evolution of consciousness. In The BIG Picture, author Garry Gilfoy discloses his own spiritual experiences and also tells the stories of others, such as Joy, who was sent back from the realm of spirit without her husband after a horrific crash; Trish, who 'died' numerous times before learning to visit her cosmic classroom at will; Helen, who relived a holocaust nightmare before her eyes opened onto ancient Egypt; and Keely, who was miraculously saved by a familiar figure, the Watcher. Gilfoy helps us contemplate deeper meanings and refocus the lens through which we view the world. The BIG Picture guides us to ponder unusual possibilities that can shift the point of reference for our earthly thoughts and deeds."

Chapter Nine - The Watcher's Intervention Keely's story

In The BIG Picture, author Garry Gilfoy discloses his own spiritual experiences and also tells the stories of others: such as Joy, who was sent back from the realm of spirit without her husband after a horrific crash; Trish, who 'died' numerous times before learning to visit her cosmic classroom at will; Helen, who relived a holocaust nightmare before her eyes opened onto ancient Egypt; and Keely, who was miraculously saved by a familiar figure, the Watcher.

Readers will discover a new lens through which to view the world.
