SONG CYCLE - A sequence of songs, perhaps on a single theme, or with texts by one poet, or having continuos narrative

Intonation

Spirit composes a new song

of wisdom and praise. I note the

hibiscus anthem. Brilliant stars

in unison with the Oriole.

Syncopated streams drip stalactites.

Crescendo of the canyons.

Drumbeats of stones. Rain

harmonizes with wolf’s call.

My young son

chants a guttural lullaby.
