Stinson Beach
After dharma bums danced
naked
around bonfires seeking Buddha
in Hershey bars and
celibate orgies,
Stinson Beach spawned
tattoos
and elbows lost in Cheetos
bags.
Bright colored umbrellas
accent the shoreline
blocking glare from iPhone
screens
the latest issue of
Psychology Today.
Dharma bums no longer
wallow in sand
to prove the crystal truth
of compassion.*
They are either getting
drunk
with butchers in the city*
or are now too old to care.
