I am the crocheted dishcloth
hanging to dry in the kitchen.

When the sun rises, the small child waits until the last
moment to rise.

I am the gold poppy from California left in the pocket.

 

I am a crisp clean sheet.

 

I am the sun hiding behind thunderclouds full of lightning.

 

I am the heron nesting on channel marker number 35,
marsh grass on the creek bed.
