If I could dance a poetic riff with
you today,
and then, look deeply into your lovely eyes.
What would they tell me of you?
Is there a story hidden somewhere
inside them, hidden in you, of earth
and stars, of movements seen and unseen
across all the heavens, of silences
shared?
Tell me, please, I wonder deeply.

when she was born
town criers drummed away
go look at that baby
her eyes see the whole word
she looked and looked
saw things that made her smile
horrors that made her
feel horrific becoming…
she turned away
to face the sun
light blinding glare
like rocks on mountains
calling in their gold…
whose eyes are these
that blind the seeker
who is the knower
who loves who desires
shake away beliefs break them
for they make us into rags
who is the lover
whose music makes my arms sing
long for quiet breathing of flowers …
when I look into your eyes
I see infinitely what you see
this makes me smile
the way the cosmos
wraps around another
is this a story worthy
of your gaze?
