Ana Yin - Author and Poet
The Robin
The birds flew in and out.
On a corner of my windowsill,
they made a tiny fine nest.
The next day, four little blue eggs.
Two weeks went by,
the birds guarded and brooded,
yet nothing cracked.
I began to worry
and paid a visit to Helen
who lived alone, in a petite room
at the hemline of our city.
Dressing a new coat upon her stuffed pet,
again, her smile was bittersweet.
She smoothed the wrinkles,
explained that she couldn’t afford the real.
with a sigh, she continued,
“God will take care.”
