Saint Julian Press is proud to announce a new book of German-English bilingual poetry. Die Taverne des Erwachens - The Tavern of Awakening, poems for meditation by author Fred LaMotte, translated by Otto Raich, will be released on June 28, 2024. The Tavern of Awakening is a book for meditation; its poems invoke images and inspiration from across humanity's contemplative traditions.

Poetry is the closest written expression to the Unutterable. Translating a poem requires settling down in the silence of the heart and letting oneself be taken in by the subtle music of the poem. ABOUT THE EDITOR AND TRANSLATOR
Otto K. Raich, along with his wife Ulrike, founded the Center for Mindfulness, Yoga, and Meditation in Linz, Austria. He trains, coaches, and supervises organizations and individuals in MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) and Mindful Leadership and also leads meditation courses and seminars.
Since his inaugural visit to India in 1987, Otto has been immersed in various spiritual and mystical traditions. He holds a Master of Science from Sigmund Freud University in Vienna and an MBA from Open University in Milton Keynes. Otto resides with Ulrike, their daughter Isabel, and a lively household of animals in the serene embrace of nature in Ternberg, Austria.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR-POET
ALFRED K. LAMOTTE is the author of four volumes of poetry with Saint Julian Press. Together with the artist and environmentalist Rashani Réa, he has written four other art and poetry books. His poems have been published in several magazines and anthologies. He is an interfaith university chaplain, meditation teacher, and lecturer in philosophy and world religions. He holds degrees from Yale University and Princeton Theological Seminary. He lives on the shores of the Salish Sea near Seattle, WA, with his wife Anna and his loving friends, golden furry four-legged friends Emerson and Finn.
